New Packaging for our FRAU Margarines and Mélanges

We announced it a few months ago, and now we are ready: we have updated the packaging for our margarines and mélanges.

From today onwards, the wrappers will be aluminum, featuring pastel colors and a more attractive design. Most importantly, each product will now be clearly identifiable by name. Previously, the packaging was made of special grease-resistant paper, with the name printed on one side using inkjet technology. In the past, we received criticism because the packaging for all our products looked almost identical.

This change coincides with the implementation of a new packaging line by our German supplier. However, the quality remains unchanged, both for our margarines and mélanges.

For over 50 years, we have been importing high-quality German margarines into Italy under the FRAU brand. These are premium-quality, entirely plant-based margarines, produced without hydrogenated oils and fats—one of the first in Italy to do so, dating back to July 2008.

Our margarines are the result of years of experience, advanced technology, and rigorous quality control over the raw materials used. The ingredients and their workability have always been a benchmark in the market.

Available versions:

  • For croissants and puff pastry;
  • For creams and doughs;
  • For shortcrust pastry.

Our mélanges, on the other hand, combine the quality of margarine with the richness of fine butter. As you know, butter is the preferred fat in pastry making—its aroma and flavor have always been synonymous with quality.

Together, butter and margarine make a winning combination, blending the taste of butter with the lightness and workability of margarine!

Our mélanges are available in two multi-purpose versions:

  • For croissants and puff pastry;
  • For doughs, creams, and shortcrust pastry.

Our margarines and mélanges are produced in different "formulations" throughout the year to adapt to seasonal temperature variations during processing. For optimal consistency during use, we recommend keeping the product at room temperature in the laboratory for at least 24 hours before use.
